October 9th Match Report

The weather was extremely nice! the high was 86 degrees on a the second Saturday of October. Wow. what a super fun time as all had indicated. i first would like to thank all the members for there continued support. it is much appreciated. a special thanks to Jim C, Jim R, and Ernie O
for getting to the club early for set up. they all beat me this time. thanks guys. Guy and Riz showed up just as we finished setting up as they were coming up from the bay area.

After sighting in with the rifles and pistols, the guys whipped out there Quigley guns :) the Quigley shoot off is to simulate an 800 yard standing shot using a fire arm just scaled down for air guns. thanks you guys for bringing them and contributing to the new shoot at Golden State FTC. everyone participated shooting the Quigley guns in practice. at Easton Field Target, we have a 12 fpe limit when shooting this class. the rifle also has to use the factory stock. this will put shooters on a more level playing field and in true Quigley fashion imo. targets are supposed to be placed out at 55 yards but we moved em in a bit to 45 ish given the open ground and wind we get at the club. every one hit at least one target in practice. not too shabby for the first time out imo.

Guy won the Quigley shoot off followed by Riz and Ernie who tied for 2nd.
Guy also won the main event with a score of 43/46 and is burning up everything in sight. training for nationals is where Guy has been concentrating on lately. he is our lethal weapon over here on the west coast and look forward to him tearing it up in a couple of weeks in MD. may the force be with him :)

when it came to pistol f/t, Ernie O turned up the heat and only dropped 2 out of the 24 shot course. that is smoken hot and tied Guy O for 1st. i feel Riz set up one the best course we have had so far in pistol. we had a 3/8 inch kz, 1/2 inch kz along with an elevated shot at 30 yards up high in the wind. so no babies game here. lol. both parties felt pretty good about there performance so we called it a great day and left the scores stand with 2 winers in pft. great work guys. finishing a close second was Riz. he is also one great shot in what ever he picks up.

Mean while Jim c is burning up the lanes in hunter again. what an outstanding performance he has shown being so new to hunter f/t. i look for him to be Easton's  ringer when it comes to this devision with Jim R on his heels. as soon as Jim R works out some issues with his rig, look out. he is a commen. :)

In open class Riz dominated again with his USFT. he thought he would give this rig a try today and did very well although we all new he had left a few targets out there standing that just should not have been. that wind at Easton F/T can sure be crazy sometimes---gusting when you least expect it.
